Abstract: We discuss mathematical physics underlying two hydrodynamical models which are of particular interest in astrophysics of star-forming interstellar clouds. To wit, magnetohydrodynamical (MHD) model describing well ionized interstellar medium in terms of single-component perfectly conducting fluid and ferrohydrodynamical (FHD) model dealing with non-conducting gas-dust medium with highly pronounced property of paramagnetic polarizability. Emphasis is placed on the simulations of the wave process in an incompressible gas-based ferrocolloidal interstellar medium. It is shown that such a medium can transmit perturbation by a transverse ferrohydrodynamical wave which is a counterpart of the magnetohydrodynamic wave in magnetoplasma.
