Abstract: PURPOSE: To study the influence of exercise rehabilitation therapy on the postoperative recovery of patients with closed Achilles tendon rupture. METHODS: The clinical data of 5353 patients with closed Achilles tendon rupture were analyzed and postoperative follow-up was performed for 6 to 12 months. RESULTS: The excellent and good rate was 93.5% in the exercise rehabilitation group and 68.1% in the spontaneous rehabilitation group. After surgery, there were 2 cases of wound infection and 1 case of second rupture in patients with exercise rehabilitation; there were 2 cases of wound infection, 2 cases of skin necrosis and 2 cases of second fracture in the spontaneous rehabilitation group. CONCLUSION: Exercise rehabilitation therapy after closed Achilles tendon rupture surgery could effectively improve the efficacy of postoperative rehabilitation treatment and reduce postoperative complications.
