Abstract: The high-power electric vehicle controller integrated drive module works with high current. The integrated drive module use Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT), and the IGBT is in the state of frequently turned off and open, so the module itself fever seriously. Thermoelectric cooler’s one surface can produce lower temperature than the surroundings, and the other surface can produce high temperature. To reduce the integrated drive module working temperature, increase its heat dissipation efficiency and its working efficiency, a kind of semiconductor cooling and water cooling system is designed. The system includes heat exchange water tank, thermoelectric cooler, water supply system, heat radiating system, CPU master module, temperature sensor, and so on. The integrated drive module produces heat, and the heat conducts to controller radiating surface. Thermoelectric cooler surface producing low temperature is close to the controller radiating surface, and the thermoelectric cooler cool the integrated drive module. The quantity of heat transfers to the exchange water tank. Water in the heat exchange water tank carries the quantity of heat to the cooling system by the associated connection hoses. The water flows in the connection hoses and the heat is carried to the cooling fin. The fans work, and the heat is blown away out of the electric vehicle, so the integrated drive module IGBT temperature is reduced. Temperature sensor DS18B20 checks the integrated drive module, and the CPU adjusts the integrated drive module IGBT opening size, MOS tubes opening size controlling pump and fans, so the thermoelectric cooler two sides temperature difference change, water pump and fan working speed change. The tests indicate that the cooling system can restrain integrated drive module IGBT temperature availably, and increase the controller working efficiency effectively.
