Abstract: Seven paradigms (rules) are formulated and used to illustrate what is wrong in the ways that the information industry behaves in addressing and following the rules. Rule structures for content, technology, markets, research, communications, government and law are employed. A scorecard is presented documenting current performance records for the industry.
