Hypertext in action: some results from an application

Abstract: There are plenty of papers on the promise of hypertext, but few on real, large-scale applications that have proved their cost-effectiveness. This paper describes such an application. Throughout the description it tries to bring out some of the important principles and technical points that govern the success of hypertext applications.
