A 20-CHOICE EXPERIMENT IN GO FOR HUMAN+COMPUTER

Abstract: This contribution investigates to what extent a strong human Go player is handicapped in his/her performance when he/she is not at liberty in his/her move decisions, but has to select amongst proposals given by a computer program. We performed experiments in which the choice of move for the human was restricted to 20 computer moves. Amongst other things the experiments resulted in an urgent wish list for interactivity features.
