Abstract: This article describes the development of the curriculum of the School of Library and Information Science, Mara Institute of Technology, from 1968 to the present. The course, which originally prepared students to sit for the Library Association (U.K.) examinations, has been transformed into a full-fledged course offering first-level professional training for undergraduates and postgraduates. The scope of the curriculum has been widened to include elements of information science and, also, to reflect important developments in information technology, while the variety of liberal arts and management subjects has also increased. Curriculum development at the School is seen as a dynamic process which responds to environmental factors and changes whenever necessary.
