Abstract: This paper describes the STRATEX system, a knowledge-based system for strategic market planning in the export trade of fish and fisheries products. The results of the pilot system development are described through a presentation of the development criteria for the STRATEX system, the goals of the system, and the decision-making procedure of the system. Furthermore, we describe the different planning stages in the STRATEX system from a user's point of view.
